Tony Butala, co-founder of The Lettermen, has died at 87

Tony Butala, a founding member of the vocal trio The Lettermen, died on Sunday at the age of 87. He began singing professionally as a small boy, sang in a Los Angeles boys choir that appeared in several films, and in the late 1950s formed The Lettermen with Jim Pike and Bob Engemann. He was the last surviving member of the original three. He stepped back from performing in 2019. Celebrations of his life are planned in Wisconsin and California. Please pray for his children, grandchildren, siblings and the partner he loved, and for everyone in The Lettermen family who is grieving him.
