Jim Boyd, Boston news anchor, has died at 84

Jim Boyd, who anchored news at WCVB in Boston for decades, died on Tuesday at 84 after a period of poor health. Born in Harlem, he started in the mailroom at National Educational Television in New York, moved to Boston in 1972 as a reporter and retired in 2008. In later years he finished his degree at Tufts at 71, took small film roles and coached young people in sports. He leaves his wife, Linda Polach, and their three daughters. Please pray for Linda and their daughters, and for the friends and former colleagues who are missing him.
