Cuauhtémoc Cárdenas, the Mexican politician who ran for president three times and served as Mexico City's first elected mayor, died on Wednesday at the age of 92. President Claudia Sheinbaum announced his death. He was the son of former president Lázaro Cárdenas, and leaders from across Mexico's political spectrum have paid their respects.
