Belal Halbouni, Vancouver Whitecaps defender, diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma

Belal Halbouni, a 26-year-old centre back for the Vancouver Whitecaps, said on Friday that he has been diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma, a form of cancer. He began treatment last week in his hometown of London, Ontario, and will step away from football to focus on his recovery. He joined the Whitecaps in February 2024, and the club has extended his contract through the 2027-28 season and promised to stand with him and his family. He thanked the club for showing him what it means to be part of a family. Please pray for Belal as he goes through treatment, for healing and strength, and for his family and teammates beside him.
